World Anti‑Internet Fraud Alliance (WAIFA)
Public Statement on Organizational Dissolution

March 16, 2026

Since its founding, the World Anti‑Internet Fraud Alliance (WAIFA) has operated as a fully volunteer‑driven, not‑for‑profit organization dedicated to exposing transnational online fraud, raising public awareness, and supporting victims of internet‑based scams. WAIFA has never received government funding, third‑party grants, or public donations. All operational costs over the years were personally covered by the three founding members, who volunteered their time, expertise, and resources solely to serve the public good.

Over the past several years, WAIFA has:

  • Consulted with victims in identifying “Pig-Butchering Scheme”, helped victims in case-reporting and psychological healing.

  • Organized and sponsored the 2022 and 2023 NYC Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) programs for about 60 students, training young people to recognize and combat online fraud.

  • Provided public education to victims, families, and general internet users about the dangers of online scam networks.

  • Helped bring international attention to fraudulent compounds and criminal networks operating in Cambodia and other Southeast Asian regions.

  • Encouraged governmental and law enforcement action by raising awareness of the human trafficking and cyber‑fraud operations hidden in these areas.

Through these efforts, WAIFA has fulfilled its founding mission in meaningful and lasting ways.

After careful consideration, the Board of Directors has unanimously decided that WAIFA will cease operations and proceed with formal dissolution in accordance with New York State law. This decision reflects both the completion of the organization’s core mission and the desire to prevent misuse of WAIFA’s name by unrelated individuals.

Recently, WAIFA has become aware that unauthorized parties have falsely used the name “WAIFA” or “WAIFA.org” to solicit donations or conduct fraudulent activities. We state unequivocally:

  • WAIFA has NEVERr accepted public donations.

  • WAIFA will NEVER request money, contributions, or financial support from anyone.

  • Any fundraising request made in the name of WAIFA is fraudulent and should be reported immediately.

As we move through the legal dissolution process, WAIFA will continue to cooperate with relevant authorities and maintain transparency with the public. Once dissolution filings are completed with the appropriate state agencies, WAIFA will formally conclude its operations.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the students, volunteers, victims, families, and community members who have supported WAIFA’s mission over the years. Although the organization will close, the impact of its work - and the awareness it helped build - will continue to protect and empower the public.

For any questions during this transition period, please refer to the official website www.waifa.org for updates.
